We teach better ways of including and involving people with understanding or speaking difficulties.

With individuals

One in five people experience some form of communication difficulty or disability in their lifetime.

The thing that makes Include.org unique is that the charity offers social, learning and therapeutic opportunities to everyone. No matter the origin or type of communication need.

We don’t exclusively work with people who have learning disabilities or autism, or just those with dementia – we recognise people’s strengths and similarities and work across communities.

Include empowers people through community projects, training, choir performances, co-production and consultancy services. We combine music, Makaton signing and fun with Speech and Language Therapy and accessibility expertise.

With the community

We’re seeking systemic change and learning at a community level – not just individually focused inputs.

Include is on a mission to up-skill the wider community so that more people and services know how to be inclusive communication partners.

The hope is that communities will become more adept at inclusive communication and Makaton.

To Include someone is to unlock their potential and ensure they belong – we guarantee you’ll be surprised at what people can achieve together.
