Makaton is one of the most successful and practical communication tools used to support people with learning disabilities.

It helps to develop and maintain communication, improves understanding, reduces stress and behaviour which challenges – and, for signing, all you need is your hands, so you will always have it with you! The symbol system is widely used in schools, so familiar to adults; it uses simple line drawings to represent words- so is a great support for people with literacy difficulties.
